Celebrate St Patrick’s Day with Irish Desserts

St Patrick’s Day falls on the 17th of March every year, and is a day we celebrate St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. The day mainly consists of enjoying a classic Irish Guinness, eating plenty of good food and wearing anything green.

As it is also known as feast day, we have spotted three Irish desserts that you could feast on this year as you celebrate, and we are confident that these will definitely go down a treat – whether you’re Irish or not!

  1. Guinness Cake

It wouldn’t be a proper St Patrick’s celebration without a touch of Guinness! If you’re down for all things St Patrick’s then the recipe for this cake is for you! Don’t be shocked by the Guinness though – it’s simply used to develop the texture of the cake by making it extra dense and moist, which is exactly what we want. To get the most out of this cake serve it with cream or ice cream, you will not regret it!

  1. Irish Cream Brownies

If you love brownies, and if you love Irish Cream – then prepare to be amazed by these treats! Not only do they have a nice strong flavour, but the icing is so smooth and creamy. Talk about homemade bricks of liquor-infused fudge heaven! Ready in just 45 minutes, get your baking utensils and start making these using this recipe.

  1. Guinness cupcakes with Baileys frosting

If you’re going full-out and joining the ‘something green’ trend, then you definitely want to have a go at making these cupcakes using this recipe by Randy. Because Guinness is such a rich beer, the moisture and texture of these cakes is close to perfection, and as for the Baileys frosting – it just adds something special to the cakes!

  1. Chocolate Fudge Cake

If you’re not into liquor-infused desserts, or are not a baker but still want to celebrate Irish style, you can have the Coppenrath & Wiese Chocolate Fudge Cake, with leprechaun topping for that Irish touch! You can serve this delicious dessert warm with a big scoop of your favourite ice cream!

While the biggest celebration might be taking place in Ireland, take the time to celebrate no matter where you are. For a Guide to St Patrick’s Day, check out our helpful blog!
